For Many, the word Kannada means its only a memories of,
A gutkha chewing cab driver,
A rude Auto driver,
A corrupt police man,
A greedy land lord,
Devegowda,
Activists with red and yellow flags,
Ugly looking Heroes and their gory looking movies,
Heavily “armed”[gold jewels] real estate fellow.

Its not their fault. They only see these people as Kannadigas. They don’t know the fact that, the guy standing next to them, working shoulder to shoulder to him, challenging his abilities every day [in a very cost effective way too] who travels abroad with big, huge English paper backs, speaks impeccable English is also Kannadiga. Till that fellow feels comfortable to speak Kannada, at least with his fellow kannadiga, this image of Kannadigas wont go. Till then Devegowda and ragi mudde is unavoidable.

Today, I salute to those Kannadigas, who made Bangalore an international name and stood behind the curtains, who still don’t mind speaking other language to guide the neighbor towards his address, who sits in coffee day and criticizes every thing to do with kannada and kannadigas forgetting CCD is by a Kannadiga, who watches other two colleges speaking there own language and says “hi,how are you” to fellow Banglorean. I salute to those who still find himself out of place in Rock shows and secretly admire C.Ashwath, but wont talk about it.

Dear Mallu, Gujju, Bongu, Bhaiyas, and others at least today, on Kannada Rajyothsava day, Great others with simple “NAMASKARA”. and lets catch how many “Kandys” are hiding behind this cosmopolitan tag. :)
